Ophthalmology

MidState offers the latest state-of-the-art lens implants for the treatment of cataracts.

A cataract is a clouding of the lens in the eye, which affects vision. Symptoms include cloudy or blurry vision, poor night vision and double vision. People with cataracts may also notice that colors seem faded or that headlights, lamps or sunlight may appear too bright.

Cataracts are common in older people. Other risk factors include:

  • Diabetes
  • Smoking and alcohol use
  • Prolonged exposure to sunlight

There are a number of diagnostic tests used to determine if a person has cataracts.
