The Department of Nursing Education promotes lifelong learning and quality patient care by providing education, training, and development to all nursing staff in a cost effective, flexible manner, utilizing principles of evidence based practice and the latest technology.

Education Opportunities for Nurses:

Cardiovascular Nursing Education

Hartford HealthCare provides a comprehensive education program for all new nurses in Cardiology to meet the necessary elements of performance required for all nurses entering cardiology.

EMS Courses

Hartford HealthCare offers EMS courses throughout the year. Many courses qualify for certification at the state and/or national level.

Graduate Nurse Residency Program

Our GN Residency Programs will provide the new graduate nurse the opportunity to partner with a Registered Nurse Preceptor in a work/study environment in order to increase competency in caring for the adult acute care medical/surgical patient.

HealthStream® E-Learning Web Based Training

Web-based, self-paced computer software covering most JCAHO and OSHA mandatory courses. A user name/password is required.

Nursing Touch Validation

Nurses and PCAs can now offer Reiki and/or Therapeutic Touch as part of their overall care plan.

Nursing Competency Testing
