Cuno Foundation awards over $100,000 in grants
The Cuno Foundation has awarded 13 grants to non-profit organizations totaling over $100,000, said Natalie Cheerman, chairman of the distribution committee. The largest grant, payable over three years, was made to MidState Medical Center for its emergency room expansion project.
“The Cuno Foundation has always supported healthcare providers, with MidState being at the top of the list”, said Cheerman.
Other recipients include the American Cancer Society,”Project Graduation, Franciscan Life Center, Meriden-Wallingford Summer Campership, Meriden-Wallingford Substance Abuse Council, Middlesex Community College Foundation, Charity Club of Meriden, Quinnipiac River Watershed Association, Festivals of Meriden, Tri-Town Special Olympics, Augusta Curtis Cultural Center and Meriden YMCA Kids Campus.
The Cuno Foundation is again accepting grant applications for public, charitable or educational uses. Grants are usually made for specific , tangible items or capital expense requests that directly benefit the recipient. The Cuno Foundation does not grant funds for salaries. Applications are reviewed three times a year. The next deadline date for submitting applications is Sept. 15. Awards will be announced in October. Preference is given to proposals submitted by tax-exempt, not for profit organizations located in the Meriden area.
