
Jonatahn Kost, MD
Medical Director
Jonathan Kost, MD, joined MidState Medical Center in 2006 as the Medical Director of the newly established Spine and Pain Institute. Dr. Kost is board certified in Pain Management and Anesthesiology. He received his anesthesiology training at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York and completed his Pain Management Fellowship at Harvard Medical School’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He is a member of the American Pain Society, the International Association of the Study of Pain, the American Academy of Pain Medicine, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia, the American Society of Anesthesiology, and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.

Dean Mariano, DO
Clinical Director
Dean Mariano, DO, joined MidState Medical Center’s Spine and Pain Institute in October 2007. Dr. Mariano, a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology, also holds subspecialty certification in Pain Management. He earned his BS at the Carnegie-Mellon University College of Science followed by four years at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pennsylvania. He completed a year of rotating fellowship at The Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh, three years of Anesthesia residency, and a Fellowship in Pain Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. For the last year and a half, Dr. Mariano has also held appointments as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Departments of Anesthesia and Neurological Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
