The comprehensive Cardiac Rehabilitation and Wellness Program at MidState Medical Center is specifically designed to provide each patient with the personalized information and professional support they need to make the right choices to restore cardiac health.

Our program has been certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR), which recognizes those programs that have been rigorously reviewed by a national board and found to meet the essential requirements for standards of care.

A Two-Phase Program

Patients who are recovering from a heart attack, coronary bypass surgery, angioplasty, and other cardiac conditions, benefit from a two-phase rehabilitation.

Phase One consist of inpatient teaching and low-level physical activity for two weeks following a cardiac event.

Phase Two is a monitored program, which should begin four to six weeks after discharge. Patients exercise three times a week, under close supervision, with continuous cardiac monitoring. During this phase, which usually lasts for two or three months, patients are also educated as to how to limit their risk factors for further cardiac diseases.
